A Day in the Life

Client: Hats in the Belfry - Fall catalog, social media and correspondence
Location -  Annapolis, Maryland

I  recently had the good fortune of being selected for a Kingsley Models photoshoot for their client, Hats in the Belfry. Super excited, we got up at 4:30 am to make the trek down to Annapolis. My personal Uber driver (my ever-supportive wife) and I drove through the dawn with an amazing waxing gibbous moon lighting the way. (I looked that up...)  We arrived and met the creative team and the other Kingsley models. Jeni, the team leader for Hats in the Belfry was a powerhouse. From what I could gather, not only was she in charge of the shoot, she is also a buyer, website designer and creative director for the store. She wears a lot of hats, literally and figuratively.  Her knowledge of hat styles, fittings and what type of hat fits what face shape was fascinating. Harmony had meticulously selected the wardrobe and hats for each model and Shae was our fabulous photographer.

The weather was perfect, unseasonably warm for the October day. I had never hung out in downtown, historic Annapolis before but it is one of  my Mom's favorite vacation places. The team walked through the busy streets, gathering curious bystanders when we stopped to take shots. One of my favorites parts of participating on these shoots is meeting the other models. I have found there is a special comradery between the models. I love sharing and hearing about perspective jobs coming up and past working experiences. There was even time to play in the autumn leaves and take selfies. Can't wait to see the final photos on the Hats and the Belfry website, emails and more. Thanks to all for making that day happen.
